Paul Dennis: Full Frontal Cortex - Songs From The Synaptic Closet

The Soundhouse, Leicester • Thursday 4 February 2027 • 18:30

When Paul registered this show in Edinburgh 2026, he was advised to "make the title explanatory." This resulted in a downward spiral of overthinking that lead to him calling it "Title Explained In Blurb - The Musical (Well, sort of)." True to his word, the title was indeed explained in the blurb. What was NOT explained was the show itself. D'oh.

So he'd like to rectify that. Firstly, it is not a musical. It's a comedy show that tells a story and shares reflections on Paul's life thru the lens of neurodiversity. These experiences and observations are illustrated with either original songs or one of around 150 song parodies he has written in the last 12 months. There isn't time to play them all, so he asks the audience to give him a pop decade to narrow it down.

"You literally never know where the next gag or song is going to take you" - One4Review

"Smart, sharp and side-splittingly funny" - Ignacio Lopez

Paul says it's an absolute joy to perform and audiences feel the same about watching it.

"Genuinely the best show I've seen the whole fringe 10/10. Belly laughs the whole time i just loved it." - K

"a highlight of my entire Fringe. There's no picking on the audience or anything either, if that's a concern for you; it's just a warm, relaxed, and very funny hour" - El.

"Absolutely hilarious. Not only were Paul’s lyrics inventive, but he is an excellent singer and guitarist too. I am autistic, 26 years old and his show made me feel very seen. It really was laugh out loud and perfectly summed up the autistic experience with originality. " - Em.

"Paul is so likeable, genuine, and down-to-earth. There’s something special about the way he takes familiar melodies and turns them into personal stories and experiences. His lyrics feel so honest." - I&D

"Funny and tender. Learned so much about autism and ADHD in this very unique environment. Great jokes and music. " - M

"Feel good music and a good insight on what it is like to feel autistic. 10/10. Would see again." C.
