I am Thenjiwe Moseley, a South African stand-up comedian, actress and MC based in the UK. My international performance experience spans South Africa, Britain, Australia, Tanzania and Southeast Asia. I bring sharp observational humour, expressive storytelling and a distinctive Zulu perspective to audiences across cultures.

My live credits include World Comedy Clash at Hackney Empire, where I represented South Africa, alongside performances at The Comedy Store London, AY Live London, Nova Cinema in Woking and theatre shows in Cardiff. I have also performed on line-ups with Reginald D Hunter. My experience ranges from comedy clubs and festival stages to theatres and corporate events.

Alongside stand-up, I host events as an MC, including the African Climate Foundation dinner at London’s Garden Museum. I bring warmth, wit and a commanding stage presence, with experience adapting my delivery to different audiences and occasions.

My solo show, The Lazy Hard Worker, draws on a career spanning more than 40 jobs. From nanny and lawyer to funeral crier and mattress tester, these experiences provide the foundation for an hour about ambition, survival and the inventive ways we try to make a living. I performed the show at Southbank Fringe in 2026.

I perform in English and isiZulu, with material exploring identity, everyday life, relationships and the contrasts between South Africa and Britain. As an actress and digital content creator, I also write and perform character comedy and sketches, connecting with audiences beyond the live stage.

I am currently undertaking my “50 Cities Before 50” tour, an international performance project launched on my 49th birthday. The Lazy Hard Worker is the lead show, with festival appearances and collaborations forming part of the tour.

For this festival, I will present The Lazy Hard Worker in English. I am comfortable performing both a full solo hour and shorter club sets, and I actively support show promotion through my social media channels.
