Get ready for a huge night of live comedy as Chuckl. brings This is Stand Up at its Best to The Stamford Corn Exchange, featuring a brilliant line-up of comedy talent including Clinton Baptiste, Michelle Shaughnessy, Ross Smith and Adam Morrison.

Clinton Baptiste - As seen in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
Clinton Baptiste is the hapless clairvoyant, medium and psychic from Peter Kay’s hit Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights. Created and performed by Alex Lowe, Clinton has gone on to become a cult live comedy character in his own right, bringing audiences a brilliantly silly mix of supernatural nonsense, audience interaction and wonderfully unreliable messages from beyond. Expect a properly entertaining performance packed with psychic chaos, quick wit and big laughs.

Michelle Shaughnessy - As seen on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Michelle Shaughnessy is a Canadian comedian, writer and actor now based in London. Originally from Toronto, Michelle has built a strong reputation across North America and the UK, with acting work featured on Hulu, Amazon Prime and Netflix. Her original scripted pilot was also a finalist in the Just For Laughs Stand Up and Pitch sitcom contest. Sharp, charismatic and hugely engaging, Michelle brings a fresh international voice and plenty of personality to the line-up.

Ross Smith - As seen in Slow Horses and Sick of It.
Ross Smith is a comedian, actor and MC known for his quick wit, engaging storytelling and relaxed, audience-friendly style. His screen credits include Apple TV+ series Slow Horses and Karl Pilkington’s sitcom Sick of It, while his live comedy work has seen him become a regular face at comedy clubs across the UK. With strong crowd work and a natural stage presence, Ross brings pace, charm and plenty of laughs to the night.

Adam Morrison - One of our favourite MCs.
Holding the night together is Adam Morrison, a Kent-based comedian from the Isle of Sheppey who has performed across the UK comedy circuit. A former Royal Navy sailor with a background full of real-life stories, Adam brings relatable material, strong audience connection and a lively, down-to-earth style to the stage.

Four fantastic acts, one brilliant night of comedy. Expect big laughs, top-quality live stand-up and a proper comedy club atmosphere from start to finish.

Ross Smith

Ross Smith is a multi-talented comedian, actor, and MC, known for his quick wit, sharp humor, and engaging storytelling. A standout performer at the Edinburgh Festival, Ross made waves with his debut solo show, I Am Ross Smith, inspired by his viral adventure where he went on holiday with strangers in place of another man named Ross Smith. The show garnered critical acclaim and was a highlight of the festival. He followed up the next year with another sellout show Crying Shame which featured two of Dave’s Top Ten Jokes of the Fringe, cementing his status as one of the most exciting emerging voices in comedy. In addition to his stand-up, Ross has showcased his versatility in the acting world, appearing in the Apple TV series Slow Horses, and Karl Pilkington’s sitcom Sick of it . Adam Morrison

Before taking to the stage Adam spent time within the Royal Navy. He wasn’t a great sailor but, he was an excellent “sailor”. After leaving the Andrew he fluttered from job to job working in scrap yards to delivering newspapers to working I Sewage treatment to provide for his young family. He is a father to 4 kids who may drive him up the wall but without them he’d be lost. Adam took the plunge into stand up in January 2012 where he performed at the Cavendish Arms Comedy Virgins night. Armed with only a handful of jokes and he won the comedian of the night and the journey had begun. 2012 to 2017 due to lack of funds and a growing family he only had 50 gigs under his belt. This changed when he went to the Made in Kent comedy competition where he came runner up and won a spot at the Woodvile halls in Gravesend January 2018. This was the night that changed his comedy career. Since this night he has performed the length and breadth of the country and on mainland Europe, it is no longer a hobby to him but a necessity to his whole existence. “very funny” Patrick Monahan “One to watch” Stephen K Amos “one of Kents best up and coming comedians” Old Brewery Store Comedy Club Faversham “Formidable live Stand up” Joke Club
