Furnace Comedy Club returns to The Furnace Brewpub in Derby for another packed night of live stand-up comedy. RockCentral Promotions brings together three established professional comedians, with award-winning Welsh comic Jenny Collier, musical comedy favourite Christian Reilly and sharp-witted comedian and writer Philip Simon taking to the stage. The evening is hosted by RockCentral promoter and comedian Anthony Williams, who will keep the show moving and the audience involved throughout.
Tickets are just £10, with doors opening at 7.15pm and the show starting at 7.45pm. Come down early, grab a drink from the brewpub and settle in for a lively, friendly night of comedy in the heart of Derby. This event is for audiences aged 18 and over.
Jenny Collier is a multi-award-winning Welsh stand-up comedian, writer and actor, and a well-established performer on the UK and international comedy circuit. She has supported major names including Jason Manford, John Bishop, Arthur Smith and Shaparak Khorsandi, and has performed around the world, including shows in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Switzerland. Her sharp writing, playful storytelling and assured stage presence have also led to appearances on BBC radio and a reputation as a strong, distinctive live act.
Christian Reilly is an award-winning musical comedian who combines stand-up, guitar and an impressive range of musical styles to create fast, inventive comedy. He first came to wider attention as part of Rich Hall's Perrier Award-winning Otis Lee Crenshaw show and has since become an international comedy circuit headliner. Christian has appeared at major festivals, on BBC radio and television, and in Richard Herring's acclaimed stand-up and sketch show As It Occurs to Me. Expect big laughs, skilful musicianship and brilliantly observed parodies of everything from rock and indie to musical theatre.
Philip Simon is an award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and writer who has entertained audiences in comedy clubs, theatres, corporate events and venues around the world. Known for his quick wit, relatable material and easy connection with an audience, he is equally at home delivering a tightly written set or responding to what is happening in the room. Philip has appeared on television across the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, has written for comedy including Mock the Week, and created the popular children's show School's Out Comedy Club.
Anthony Williams is a Derbyshire-based stand-up comedian, compere and the founder of RockCentral Promotions. Performing since 2019, he combines self-deprecating storytelling, sharp observations and a naturally conversational style, often finding comedy in family life, money and the questionable decisions that come with middle age. As a host, Anthony keeps the evening relaxed and welcoming while making sure the audience feels part of the show. Through RockCentral Promotions, he produces regular comedy nights in pubs, clubs, breweries and arts venues across the Midlands and North of England.
