Join us at Brio Civic Hall for one huge night of live stand-up comedy as Chuckl. brings four of our favourite acts to Ellesmere Port, featuring Phil Ellis, Liam Farrelly, Louise Young and Jay Neale.

Phil Ellis – As seen on Taskmaster.
Phil Ellis is an award-winning comedian known for his off-beat observational material, physical comedy and brilliantly unpredictable live performances. He was announced as part of the line-up for Series 20 of Taskmaster, and his official biography also highlights his Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize-winning show Funz and Gamez, which went on to be broadcast as part of BBC Radio 4’s Fresh from the Fest and BBC Three’s Comedy Feeds.

Liam Farrelly – As seen on Live at the Apollo.
Liam Farrelly is a Scottish comedian from Paisley who started performing stand-up as a teenager and quickly made a name for himself on the UK comedy circuit. His credits include Live at the Apollo, and his comedy has been described as sharp, relatable and naturally engaging, with strong live experience across major comedy clubs and festival stages.

Louise Young – As seen on Live at the Apollo.
Louise Young is an actor, writer, director and stand-up comedian from Newcastle. Her credits include Live at the Apollo and Comedy Central Live, and she has built a strong reputation on the circuit with a warm stage presence, laid-back delivery and razor-sharp jokes.

Jay Neale – One of our favourite MCs.
Holding the night together is Jay Neale, a sharp, anecdotal and unapologetically funny stand-up comedian with years of experience performing across the UK. A seasoned compère, Jay is known for tight, punchy sets, strong crowd work and an audience-friendly style that keeps the room laughing from start to finish.

Four fantastic acts, one brilliant night of comedy. Expect big laughs, top-quality stand-up and a proper live comedy club atmosphere from start to finish.

Phil Ellis

Multi-award winning 'comic genius' (The Scotsman) and breakout star of Taskmaster (C4), Phil Ellis is going on his first full national stand-up tour. Following his three big award wins at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, Phil, the very definition of funny bones, presents his show ‘Bath Mat’. Jam-packed with laugh-out-loud profound silliness, superbly crafted gags and constant surprises, Phil is bringing his 'Bath Mat' to a city near you.

Liam Farrelly

Liam Farrelly is a 21-year-old up-and-coming Scottish comedian from Paisley, who started performing stand-up aged 17 whilst still in High School and who immediately went into comedy full-time after graduating. A meteoric rise through the ranks has seen him nominated for and winning a raft of awards, have a guest acting role on BBC Scotland’s Scot Squad (S4E2, 2018) and perform at the UK’s best and most prestigious comedy clubs, including Scotland’s The Stand, Monkey Barrel, Liverpool’s Hot Water Comedy Club and both the London and Manchester Comedy Stores—all barely a year after first setting foot on a stage. Liam’s stand-up is story-based and his material is uniquely personal—you could say his unusual family have provided him with a goldmine, as his sister and an aunt are both nuns, he has a wheelchair bound parent with MS who has a wicked sense of self-deprecating humour, and other close relations are in various degrees of deterioration. "Self-referential asides and personal material… there’s a funny and interesting spark here" Chortle "Frighteningly young first act Liam Farrelly is going to have to get used to the Kevin Bridges comparisons or have elocution lessons… it was apparent that this was a young man with natural storytelling talent… Impressive stuff that earned Farrelly the runner-up spot fans" Beyond The Joke

Louise Young

Hailing from Newcastle, Louise has quickly become one of the brightest new names on the comedy circuit. A regular at clubs such as The Glee, The Stand and Komedia, Louise has also been supporting the likes of Jason Manford, Alan Carr, Tom Davis, Angela Barnes and Tom Allen on their nation-wide tours around the UK and Ireland. Louise debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance Courtyard last year with her show ‘Feral’ – about class, chaos and coming out. The show received rave reviews and was nominated for Edinburgh Comedy Awards: Best Newcomer Show, going on to appear at London Soho Theatre’s Best Newcomer Season in 2024. The show was also nominated for NextUp’s Biggest Award in Comedy and was named as “one to watch” by Rolling Stone. Louise has appeared on Comedy Central Live, as well as writing and acting in Channel 4’s Original Comedy Shorts on three sketches, one of which went on to receive over 5 million views. She also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Fred at The Stand. At the Leicester Comedy Festival, Louise has been nominated for Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2020, Best Festival Appearance in 2021 and Best Debut Show in 2023. Louise was a finalist in the Funny Women Awards in 2018, she was also nominated for a Gillard Award in 2019, and in 2020 nominated Newcomer of the Year for presenting a weekly comedy show on BBC Radio Newcastle.

Jay Neale

Sharp anecdotal & unapologetic stand-up comedian Jay Neale is an “out-for-belly-laughs” professional, he not only delivers tight, punchy and hilarious sets, he is also a seasoned compère, ready for any crowd in any sized venue with a wealth of material that leaves the audience holding their sides, born from gigging throughout the UK for the last 10 years. Reviews: “Jay is an extremely accomplished comedian, who is at home on any stage, and is a fantastic addition to any bill. Our audiences have loved his relatable material and friendly, down to earth nature. Jay possesses a kind of 'guy next door' charm; if the guy next door happens to be absolutely hilarious!”. Comedy Cow. “A fantastic MC for any night; A very engaging and funny host and a go to booking for us”. The Doorstep Comedy Club. “When it comes to MCing, Jay is one of the safest pair of hands in the business. Quick responses & sharp wit make him our go to man”. Scallywags Comedy. “A warm, funny, captivating MC; reading the audience perfectly, he ran a flawless evening and quickly became a firm favourite with our very discerning audience. Jason is a promoter’s dream MC”. Creative Cows Comedy Club.
